GoPetFriendly Launches New Pet Friendly Road Trip Planner
We are super excited to announce the (beta) release of a much improved GoPetFriendly Road Trip Planner! The new features really put the “easy” in Pet Travel. Made Easy.
Now it’s a cinch to find hotels, campgrounds, restaurants, activities and services located along your route. No more driving right by a pet friendly beach, or searching desperately for a place to eat where you won’t have to leave your pet in the car!
Helping you create outstanding travel experiences with your pets is our goal, so we’d appreciate your feedback on ways the Road Trip Planner could be even better. We’ll continue polishing it until we’re all happy!
To celebrate the launch, and because we’re the Official Pet Travel Website of Meet the Breeds™, we’ve organized a “Road Trip” activity for attendees of the event in New York on October 16th and 17th.

CONTEST RULES
1. The contest starts October 16, 2010 at 10:00 AM EST and ends October 17, 2010 at 5:00 PM EST. The winners will be announced on or about October 18, 2010 on this blog and will be notified by email.
2. No purchase is necessary, and you must be 18 years or older to enter.
3. Winners will be randomly selected from all completed entries. The odds of winning are based on the number of entries received.
4. The decision of the judges is final. The winners have 3 days to claim the prizes. If the prize is not claimed within 3 days, an alternate winner will be chosen from the pool of entries. The prizes will be mailed to the winners by priority mail.
5. The winners of the prizes are responsible for any and all applicable taxes on the prize.

And Amy, I see now that the drop-down says "please select" but I think the placement is what threw me. Visually, a lot is going on in the top right corner, so those words didn't necessarily direct me as much as blend in with the map. The place for selection seems to make more sense to the left, within the user's "work area" if that's possible.

It seems that restaurants are listed under activities...ok, I guess a snack is an activity.
But dog parks are listed under hotels, so perhaps something isn't working right?

My first question was, "What's a waypoint?" When I figured that out, I got my list of destinations and watched the map drawn instantly. Nice.
- Next questions: How is this different than MapQuest? Where are the pet friendly destinations? Do I use this in conjunction with your other search tool to find pet friendly places? ... Oh, I'm supposed to say what I want. I didn't know what I wanted. What am I asking for? Do I type in something? That's when I learned it was a drop down menu with options.
These questions are easily answered in an introduction paragraph. I think, once that happens, this will be the best resource around. The thing is, I honestly expected pinpoints to jump up when I punched in my destinations. Of course, seeing how many there are, I now understand why that can't happen.
