Relax and Rejuvenate with Your Pet at The Shores Resort & Spa

Guest post by Leila Peverett of AndaSmallDog

Looking for a quiet escape for you and your pet? Want somewhere away from the crowds but still within easy reach of restaurants and attractions? How about somewhere with oceanfront views and an exclusive spa? Sounds like you’re looking for The Shores Resort and Spa, a AAA Four-Diamond Resort located on the quieter section of Daytona Beach, Florida.

This haven of calm soothes the senses with its classical music and dark wood lobby interior complete with a bubbling water fountain, with its beachside swimming pool and Tiki Bar, and with its full-service spa. Also on the property is Azure, the resort’s signature award-winning restaurant which offers healthy, and often organic, dishes for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Don’t feel like getting ready to eat in public? Relax in the privacy of your own room and order room service from the restaurant’s full menu.

Dogs (and other pets) up to 50 pounds are allowed at The Shores. Pets are allowed in all room types except the suites and first floor lanais. There is a $25 pet fee per day and a deposit is required to cover any damage to the room (refunded upon departure). Pets are allowed in the lobby and elevators, but not in the restaurant, pool or on the beach (local law, not the hotel’s decision). However, there is an excellent dog-friendly beach and park nearby.

The Shores Resort offers a boutique spa with a full list of treatments including a hot-stone massage or a ritual Balinese massage. Full day spa packages, salon services and couples treatments are also available. There is also a fitness center with a choice of machines and free weights. Outside there is a beachfront pool and jacuzzi – a perfect way to relax some more after a tension releasing massage.

Will this do?

The rooms at the resort are tastefully decorated with good quality furnishings and spacious balconies. Rooms feature four-poster beds (super comfortable!), a flat screen plasma TV with a DVD/CD player (free DVD rentals available), a pull-out sofa, a mini-bar, and an iHome iPod player. Suites are also available and come complete with a master bedroom with a private terrace, a dining room and parlor and full size microwaves and refrigerators. Views from the rooms are spectacular  – either of the Atlantic Ocean or the Intracoastal Waterway.

The Shores Resort and Spa offers luxury at an affordable price – great for today’s economy. Rates can be as low as $104 with advance purchase. Other seasonal specials and spa packages are also available. And pet packages are coming soon! The Shores Resort is also an excellent location for a destination wedding or honeymoon, both of which can be catered to your individual tastes and desires.

The Shores Resort and Spa is located at 2637 South Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach Shores, Florida. It is about a 5-10 minute drive from the busier area of Daytona Beach and about an hours drive from Orlando.

Looks like heaven on Earth! The $25 per night pet fee seems a little bit steep though.
