This Bag Is A Treat
Around here, if you want to teach a dog something, you’d better be packing.
TREATS … lots and lots of treats.

For years, every jacket and pair of jeans I owned had treat crumbs crammed down in the corners of the pockets. And you can’t consider yourself real dog owner until you’ve sent a cheese stick through the washer – and the dryer.
When I discovered a treat bag that would clip to my belt, I was sold. Not only would I avoid the treat residue in my pocket (and underneath my fingernails), but the treats were also easier to grab, so I was faster on the draw!
Treats? Did someone say TREATS?
But it wasn’t long before the ol’ bag was looking pretty ruff.
Enter the Tom Bihn Citizen Canine Dog Treat Bag
Just in time to save my image, Tom Bihn, maker of sophisticated laptop cases, travel bags, and backpacks in their Seattle, WA factory, asked us to review their new Citizen Canine dog treat bag.
This is, by far, the most well constructed and classiest treat bag I’ve ever seen. It comes in seven fun color combinations and has three pockets – two with zipper closures and a treat pouch with draw-string closure that’s designed so the lining will not tear no matter how tight you pull it. The bag is made with a ballistic nylon exterior and a rip-stop nylon interior … both of which repel fur. It will hold your clicker, money, cell phone, and treats. And, there’s no need to attach a waste bag dispenser, because it has one built in!
A zipper in the bottom of the bag provides access to the metal pin assembly that holds any standard size roll of waste bags. Just pull the first bag through the soft plastic grommet in the back, and you’re good to go.
The Citizen Canine comes with an adjustable (and removable) shoulder strap; optional accessories include a waist strap, a Krebs recycled climbing rope leash, and a Guardian light to make you easy to spot after dark.
The price tag is the only thing that would cause me to think twice before buying. At $55, it’s considerably more expensive than the last treat bag I bought – but in this case, you get what you pay for. I imagine this bag will outlast four or five of the lesser expensive bags and still look great. And, if you do need to have it repaired, Tom Bihn will do it for a reasonable charge.
